Overview

Built for casino and gaming.

A casino resort is many venues under one roof. The gaming floor, sportsbook, players club, cage, event center, restaurants, bars, pool, conference space and marquee each have their own audience, hours and technical needs, and all of them share one property that never closes. JUDCO Communications plans casino AV zone by zone, so each space gets the right system while the property gets one consistent standard for audio, video, control and infrastructure.

We have worked on tribal gaming properties across Southern California, and we understand how those projects run: owner and gaming commission requirements, phased schedules around a floor that stays open and the need to protect the guest experience every hour of every day. This page walks through each zone of a typical property and how we approach it.

Zone 01

Gaming floor

The gaming floor sets the energy of the whole property. Audio has to carry atmosphere and announcements without fighting the sound of the machines, and displays have to inform and promote without becoming clutter. We design distributed audio in many small zones so level can be set bank by bank, with paging and promotional announcements that are clear but never jarring.

Displays on the floor include promotional screens, jackpot and tournament boards, bank-top signage and wayfinding. We plan mounting, power and data with the floor layout, and we use content networks that let marketing update every screen from one place. Because floors are reconfigured often, we leave service loops, spare paths and labeled drops so banks can move without rewiring the zone.

We plan audio zones bank by bank so the floor can be tuned in sections, with paging that ducks music automatically. Displays are mounted for clear sightlines from the aisles, and every device is placed so it can be serviced quickly between shifts.

Zone 02

Sportsbook

The sportsbook is a broadcast control room that guests sit inside. Big games call for a primary video wall, multiple smaller displays for simultaneous events, odds boards and audio that can follow one game while others play muted. We design source routing so staff can put any feed on any screen from a simple tablet, and we build in matrixed audio zones so a single seating area can hear its game.

Sightlines and glare decide where screens go. We model seating, viewing distance and ambient light, then choose LED or LCD with the right brightness. Feeds, receivers and processors live in a dedicated, labeled rack with room for the next season's channels.

Seating areas, the bar and the counter each get their own audio zone, so guests can hear the featured game where they sit while the rest of the room stays comfortable. Odds boards and wagering displays are fed from one content system so updates are instant.

Zone 03

Players club and cage

The players club and cage are where guests stop, wait and transact. Queue displays, promotion screens and clear, contained audio make the wait easier and keep messages consistent with the floor. We integrate digital signage with the same content platform used across the property so promotions update everywhere at once.

These are high-traffic, tightly controlled spaces, so installations are planned with operations to avoid disrupting service. Displays are mounted securely and cabled cleanly, and audio is kept local so announcements do not bleed onto the floor.

Queue-friendly displays, promotions signage and clear audio at the counter help guests move quickly. Content is scheduled centrally, so a promotion changes everywhere at once.

Zone 04

Event center and showroom

Event centers host concerts, comedy, boxing, banquets and community events, often in the same week. They need flexible sound reinforcement, video projection or LED, stage lighting and production infrastructure that touring acts can plug into. We design house systems that sound good on their own and give visiting engineers clean patch points, power and fiber.

For banquets and meetings, presets turn the same room into a ballroom with simpler controls staff can run. Divisible rooms get partition-aware audio and video so each section works on its own or combined.

Show systems are designed for touring riders and in-house events alike, with patch points, power and rigging coordinated early. Presets let staff move from a concert to a banquet without a full reset.

Zone 05

Bars, restaurants and pool

Every outlet has its own mood. A steakhouse needs quiet, even background music; a sports bar needs many screens and game audio; a pool deck needs weather-rated speakers and displays that cope with sun. We zone audio by outlet, give managers simple volume and source control and tie displays to the property's video distribution so any outlet can show any game.

Outdoor systems are designed for weather, sun and water, with mounting and power planned with your contractor. Day and night presets let the pool go from relaxed afternoon to evening event with a button.

Each outlet has its own audio level, music source and display content, controlled by staff from a simple panel. Weather-resistant loudspeakers and displays keep the pool and patio running in the sun.

Zone 06

Marquee and exterior LED

The marquee is the property's first impression from the road. Exterior LED signs need high brightness, weather protection, structural engineering and content workflows that marketing can manage. We coordinate structure and electrical, install and commission the display and connect it to the content system used inside.

Porte cochère and entry displays, parking wayfinding and outdoor event screens follow the same approach: the right brightness for daylight, protection from the elements and service access for maintenance.

We coordinate structure, power and data for marquee LED with the property's builder and engineers, and we plan maintenance access so the sign can be serviced without disrupting traffic.

Zone 07

Conference and banquet

Resorts sell meetings as well as gaming. Ballrooms, breakout rooms and boardrooms need projection or displays, audio, conferencing and simple controls that event staff can reset quickly between groups. We design divisible ballroom systems, standard breakout rooms and a portable equipment kit plan so meeting planners get what they need.

Hybrid events are now common. We build in camera positions, streaming outputs and clean audio feeds so groups can broadcast sessions without renting extra gear.

Divisible rooms combine and split with one touch, and conferencing and streaming let meetings reach remote attendees without hiring outside production.

Zone 08

Back-of-house communications

Behind every guest-facing space is a staff network of offices, training rooms, team member dining and meeting spaces. We install conferencing, training room AV, team member communications displays and paging so staff stay informed across shifts.

Back-of-house rooms follow the same standards as guest spaces where it makes sense, which simplifies spares and support.

Staff areas get paging, background audio and information displays that keep teams informed across shifts, all supported by the same team that maintains the front of house.

Zone 09

Cabling and backbone

Casino AV depends on a strong backbone: fiber between equipment rooms, copper to every display and speaker zone and racks that are labeled and documented. We build infrastructure for today's systems with capacity for the next remodel.

Labeling and as-builts matter on properties that change constantly. Every drop, rack and path is documented so future work is faster and safer.

Fiber and copper are installed with redundant paths where it matters, certified, labeled and documented so future additions are planned against an accurate record.

24/7 operations

The floor never goes dark.

Casinos never close, so our work never stops the floor. We phase projects zone by zone and bank by bank, working overnight and in low-traffic windows coordinated with operations. Work areas are contained, cleaned at the end of each shift and returned to service on time.

We coordinate with property management, facilities, IT and marketing so each phase is planned, communicated and closed out with testing and documentation.

Our crews arrive with a clear plan for each shift: what will be removed, what will be installed and what must be back in service before the doors open to the morning crowd. Supervisors walk the area with property staff at the end of each night, so nothing is left to chance.

Every change is logged. At the end of each phase the property receives updated drawings, device lists and settings, which keeps the record current for the next project and for anyone who supports the system later.

Tribal properties

We have experience on tribal gaming properties in Southern California and respect the owner's processes, approvals and community priorities. Our team works within property, tribal and regulatory requirements, and we keep all property details confidential.

Process

Planning a property project

Every casino project starts with a walk of the property with operations, facilities, IT and marketing. We map each zone, note what can be reused and what must change, and identify the work windows that will not affect guests.

From there we prepare drawings, a phased schedule and a written budget estimate. Equipment is staged off site and delivered zone by zone, so installation nights are spent building instead of unpacking.

Before any zone returns to service, we test audio, video, control and network together, adjust levels with the property team and train staff on the controls they will use. Documentation and as-builts are delivered at the end of each phase, not just at the end of the project.

After opening, a support plan gives the property scheduled maintenance, firmware updates and priority response, from the same team that built the system.

FAQ

Questions we hear often

Can you work while the casino stays open?

Yes. We phase work by zone and work overnight and in low-traffic windows coordinated with operations.

Can one content system run all our screens?

Yes. We design signage so marketing can manage the floor, sportsbook, outlets and marquee from one platform.

Can the sportsbook show different games in different areas?

Yes. Source routing and audio zoning let staff put any feed on any screen and play audio per area.

Do you install exterior LED marquees?

Yes, coordinating structure and electrical with your contractors.

Do you work on tribal properties?

Yes, with respect for owner processes and full confidentiality.

Do you provide support after the project?

Yes. Support plans can include scheduled checks and priority response for critical areas.

Do you handle event center production systems?

Yes: sound, video, lighting and the infrastructure touring acts expect.

How long does a casino zone upgrade take?

It depends on the zone and the work windows available. A typical approach phases one area at a time over several overnight shifts, with each area tested and returned to service before the next begins.

Can you match the property's existing standards?

Yes. We document what is installed today and build new zones to the same standard, or help the property define a new one that can be applied across every outlet.

Who supports the system after installation?

We do. Support plans include scheduled maintenance, firmware updates, remote help where the property allows it and priority on-site response.

Do you coordinate with the property's construction team?

Yes. We work alongside general contractors, electricians and the property's own engineering staff, and we share drawings early so structure, power and data are ready when our crews arrive.
